Quiet Week

Posted on Sunday 4 March 2007

Have to say it was a real quiet week at the shop. I had hoped for a busy week end, since it was the first of the month…no such luck.

I guess in someways it was destiny - we were going to have to close early each day because of our sick cat…but she did not make it past Tuesday. We had to put her to sleep, sad days at our house.

Doggles

Posted on Tuesday 20 February 2007

Bronze and Pink K9 Optics doggles have arrived. We received xxsm, xsm, and small…these will go fast, they are very popular on the little dogs. Doggles lowered their prices this year…so they are only $12.99.

Why Doggles…is it a joke? No doggles are not a joke.

For dogs with the increasingly common eye disease, Pannus, Doggles are proving themselves very useful. It is well known that dogs with Pannus should stay out of direct sun and get protection from UV light. Doggles are a great alternative for those dogs that can’t stay inside during the day.

Doggles also provide protection from wind and debris. Whether your dog rides in a sidecar, on a motorcycle, or in the back of a pickup, he/she needs eye protection.

Most dogs will readily accept Doggles after a short adjustment period. Training your dog to wear the goggles can be accomplished in a small amount of time if you follow these easy steps:

1) Don’t put the goggles on your dog while indoors. Imagine yourself wearing dark tinted glasses inside. You cannot see, and neither can your dog.

2) When you first put the goggles on your dog, don’t let him paw at the glasses or roll to get them off. Reassure him that its okay. Take him immediately to bright sunlight and let him realize that he can see with them on. Walk around, get his mind off the goggles.

3) Try to go through this routine as often as possible. The number of training sessions required depends on your dog.

Getting behind

Posted on Tuesday 20 February 2007

I seem to be getting behind on my posting. We have been busy at the shop…plus it is time to put together everything our accountant needs. That is never fun!

We were actually open Monday for about 4 hours…but it was real quiet downtown…so we finished up around 3:30. I am not sure where everyone was, but they were not downtown Lodi or out on Swenson Golf course where Larry was playing.
